I'm replying to both Chris personally and to the list, because this is a
Netiquette issue that occasionally raises some hackles. Also, by using the
"copy" and "paste" functions listed below, you'll actually be saving
yourself work in all sorts of computer-related stuff.

If you're trying to create a hyperlink (clickable text) in the body of an
e-mail message, it simply can't be done with standard ASCII (pronounced
ass-key) e-mail, like we use for this list.

There are two ways to give the people on the list information from a
particular website:

        1) simply send us the URL (usually http://www.sitename.com) in
the body of your email message (example: "I just found a
really cool site about drag links! It's at " or

        2) if there's a particular bit of text on a site you'd like
to illuminate us with, simply use your mouse to click and
drag over the text you wish to copy (which will highlight
           it).

Then, use the "edit" pull-down menu (usually top left
corner of your screen) to select "copy" from the list.

Then, using your email program (whatever it might be),
use your mouse to select where you'd like to put your
text you copied from the site.

Then use the "edit" pull-down menu again to select
"paste" and voila'! You just copied and pasted text
           from one document to another!

Copying and pasting text, images, or whatever, are one of the few things
which a computer actually makes easier than just doing it yourself.
Communicating with people halfway around the world about Toyota drag links
is another.

Good luck,

 - Nick

Well, actually 1) above IS the way to do it. _IF_ you have a decent mail
reader which is properly configured. I use Eudora Pro 3.x and these are
highlighted, clickable links. A simple double click launches your browser
with this URL.

Darn, Ed, you beat me to the punch. I was gonna say to get a REAL mail
program and it does work. I have Eudora Light (the free version readily
available on the net), and I ALWAYS double-click on hypertext links to check
out the web sites. ;>

I use Netscape Commmunicator 4.0 and you can send a link very easily but
you must have a fairly new mail program to use them. You can get
Communicator for free and it's worth the download time and the disk
space if only for the updated mail system IMHO.
