Charles, had the same thing on the same year truck, it's the charge 
light relay on the side panel just left of your left leg when sitting 
in the driver side. The top pops off the relay so you can see inside 
to make sure it's fried. Ever since mine broke I have yet to replace 
it, just no time to get down to the junk yard.
