You know the feeling - the "1" speed setting does not seem to be blowing,
then you burn out the "2" setting etc...

For those who dont know - the "resistor" pad is located in the passenger
footwell. Its tucked up behind the A/C stuff (if you have A/C). You can
find it by the wire that snakes down from under the glove box and goes
back towards the firewall (in other words, the wire is close the passenger
and then snakes towards the front of the truck). Its easy to get at and
its held in by 1 screw.

The settings measure at:
  L to M1 > 1.8 ohms
  M1 to M2 > 0.8 ohms
  M1 to H > 0.5 ohms

Its the 1.8 ohm circuit that tends to "break". I dunno the "wattage" draw
for the "1" setting, so I have'nt been to motivaed to find a cermaic
resistor replacement that might not burn out as quickly.

Mine tend to last about 3 years or 100K miles or about 3000 hours of use.

They definitely sent you the wrong one. I ordered mine about 2 weeks
ago. My usual (reliable) parts person wasn't in when I ordered
it....but she was there when I picked it up. I opened the box in front
of her, and only saw 3 resistors, I was expecting four, since I have a 4
speed fan. She was also surprised, and went to her computer to double
check...sure enough it was the wrong part. Lucky for me they had the
one I needed in stock, so she grabbed it, and I went out and replaced it
in the parking lot, to be sure we got the right one.

The 3 resistor one is listed as RESISTOR, BLOWER 87138-89103
and the 4 resistor is listed as RESISTOR, COOLER 88635-89103

Hope this helps you out.
