I've been very happy with my Hella 550's (fog lens). They come stock
with 55W bulbs which is the street legal limit here in CA. The spread
on these lights is the best of any other fog light I've looked at or
owned. (I've put Hella 550's on every car I've owned) What keeps me
buying the is performance and price. They out perform the $100+ Piaa
projection lights by far, and I buy mine at Auto Parts Club for only
$50/pair.

I'd estimate the spread I have with them mounted on my 4Runner is about
150-160 degrees with a range of 20-25ft at every point within the
spread. The cut-off on these lights is also quite impressive. When I
had them on my 86 Prelude Si I ran 115w bulbs in them and never once had
another driver flash his brights at me. As long as you aim them
properly you won't have a problem. Just make sure you don't use them in
rainy conditions, as the light will reflect right off the shiny wet road
into the eyes of oncoming traffic. (Sorry, I just had to say that.
It's one of my pet pieves)

Of course, as fog/cornering lights go, the lower you can mount them the
better. I managed to mount mine just below the front bumper attatched
to the frame. Works great.
