I have an Autometer gauge (with real numbers) - its one of the Pro series so
its probably quite accurate. Of course - that doesnt help you since I cant
tell what the stock gague was supposed to read.
Warm at idle - 20lbs
Warm at speed (above 2000 RPM) 60lbs
Cold at startup - as high as 70lbs (zero farehneit)
Cold but driving (above 2000 RPM) as high as 80lbs - and then spring opens
NOTE: Warning light goes on at 5lbs!!!
My guess is that the pump spring is "bad" - but verify with a "real" oil
pressure gague before playing parts swap - or better yet - put a "t" in and
run a "real" gauge off of the oil pressure port.
